12. Obligation of parties to a mediation

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

It shall be the obligation and the responsibility of the parties to a mediation to attempt in good faith to settle the dispute by mediation, maintain confidentiality in compliance with the provisions set out in this Act and to comply with the rules applicable to the conduct of a mediation.
