18. Managtmtnt policy for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources

The Authority in consultation with the Council shall, with the assistance of the Ministry of the Minister in charge of the subject of Fisheries, recommend to the Minister a system of rational exploitation of fisheries and aquatic resources within the territorial waters of Sri Lanka, or withia its exclusive economic zone, or within its inland waters and shall encourage citizen participation therein to maintain and enhance the optimum and continuous poductivity of such waters.
