7. Academic Board

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

There shall be an Academic Board of the Institute

(hereinafter referred to as the “Academic Board”) which shall consist of the following persons :—

(i)

the Chairman of the Institute ;

(ii)

the Director-General of the Institute ;

(iii)

the Commissioner of the Department of Official

Languages ;

(iv)

six Department Heads appointed by the Board in consultation with the University Grants Commission, from among the Department Heads of the Sinhala,

Tamil and English Departments and the Linguistic

Departments of all Universities established under the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978.
