23. Acquisition of immovable property under the Land Acquisition Act

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Where any immovable property is required to be acquired for any specific purpose of the Institute and the

Minister by order published in the Gazette approves of the proposed acquisition for that purpose, that property shall be deemed to be required for a public purpose and may accordingly be acquired under the Land Acquisition Act

(Chapter 420).
