20. Offences under this Act to be cognizable offences

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Code of Criminal Procedure Act, No. 15 of 1979, every offence under this Act, shall be deemed to be a cognizable offence within the meaning and for the purposes of that Code.
