5. Amendment of section 345 of the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Section 345 of the principal enactment is hereby amended as follows :—

(1)

by the substitution for Explanation 2 to that section of the following Explanation :—

Duty to inform of use of premises for child abuse.

“Explanation 2 : For the purposes of this section an assault may include any act that does not amount to rape under section 363 or grave sexual abuse under section 365B.”

(2)

by the addition, immediately after Explanation 2 to that section, of the following Explanation :—

“Explanation 3 : “injuries” includes psychological or mental trauma.”.
