Part VIII · Registration of Brokers and Insurance Agents

81. Application for registration

Every application for registration as a broker shall be made to the Board in such form as may be provided for that purpose by the Board, and be accompanied by—

(a)

a certified copy of the Memorandum and Articles of

Association of the company ;

Regulation of Insurance Industry

(b)

a certified copy of the certificate of incorporation of the company ;

(c)

statements setting out particulars relating to —

(i)

the shareholders of the company ;

(ii)

the directors and senior managers of the company ;

(iii)

the fulfilment of the requirements, if any that are laid down by the Board under paragraph (d) of section 80 ;

(d)

a copy of Form 48 issued by the Registrar of

Companies duly perfected and certified ;

(e)

a statement setting out the class or classes of insurance business proposed to be transacted by the company ;

(f)

a statement setting out the amount of the paid up share capital of the company ;

(g)

a fee as determined by the Board by rules made in that behalf, each for long term insurance business and general insurance business ;

(h)

a certified copy of the professional indemnity insurance policy or policies issued by two or more insurers in such form and for such amount as may be determined by the Board ; and

(i)

such other documents and information as may be required to be submitted by the Board.
