87. Notice to show cause

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

No application for registration as a broker or for a renewal of a certificate of registration already issued, shall be rejected by the Board, without giving notice in writing to

Regulation of Insurance Industry the applicant to show cause within such period as specified in the notice, as to why such application should not be rejected, and the application will be rejected where the applicant—

(a)

fails to show cause within the time specified ; or

(b)

fails to show sufficient cause acceptable to the Board.
