38. Notice of sale

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Notice shall be published in the Gazette of the date, time and place of every sale which shall be published not less than fourteen days before the date fixed for the sale.

Copies of such notice shall be -

(a)

served on the borrower, if he is alive, and on every person on whom the notice of the Order authorizing the sale is required to be served under section 37 ;

(b)

exhibited on or near the property which is to be sold; and

(c)

affixed to the walls of the Pradeshiya Sabha and within the Orama Niladhari Division within the jurisdiction of which the property is situated.
