29. Opening of accounts

(1)

In the carrying out of its operations, the Central

Bank may open and maintain cash, precious metals and securities accounts on its books for –

(a)

financial institutions, foreign banks, and government entities;

(b)

central banks, international organizations including public international financial institutions, foreign governments, and donor organizations.

(2)

The Central Bank may prescribe by rules the conditions for opening accounts on its books.

(3)

The Central Bank may open and maintain cash, precious metals and securities accounts on the books of –

(a)

financial institutions which are subject to the regulation and supervision of the Central Bank;

(b)

central banks, depositories, foreign banks and international organizations including public international financial institutions.
