71. Certain officers to be peace officers

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

The Director-General, Directors, Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors of the Authority shall be deemed to be peace officers within the meaning of the Code of Criminal

Procedure Act, No. 15 of 1979 for the purpose of exercising any of the powers conferred upon peace officers by that Code.
