Section 38 of the principal enactment is hereby amended as follows :—
enactment,
in subsection (1) of that section—
by the substitution, for the words, “Every resident company, other than a quoted public company,”, of the words “Every resident company”; and
by the substitution, for the words “ payable after April 1, 1980.”, of the following :—
“payable after April 1, 1980:
Provided that nothing in the preceding pro-visions of this subsection shall apply to any dividend declared by a quoted public company on or after April 1, 1989 but prior to April 1,
1984.”
; and
in paragraph (c) of the proviso to subsection (3) of that section, by the subsititution for the words
“any dividend received”, of the words “any dividend received on or after April 1, 1980 but prior to April 1, 1984. ”.
