207. Director ceasing to hold office

(1)

The office of director of a company shall be vacated if the director—

(a)

resigns from his office in accordance with subsection (2);

(b)

is removed from office in accordance with the provisions of this Act or the articles of the company;

(c)

becomes disqualified from being a director in terms of the provisions of section 202;

(d)

dies;

(e)

vacates office pursuant to subsection (2) of section 210; or

(f)

otherwise vacates office in accordance with the articles of the company.

(2)

A director of a company may resign by signing a written notice of resignation and delivering it to the registered office of the company. Subject to the provisions of section 208, the notice is effective when it is received at the registered office or at a later time specified in the notice.
