210. Age limit for directors

Subject to the provisions of section 211, no person shall be capable of being appointed a director of a public company or of a private company which is a subsidiary of a public company, if he has attained the age of seventy years.
Subject to the provisions of section 211, a director of a public company or of a private company which is a subsidiary of a public company, shall vacate office —
at the conclusion of the annual general meeting commencing next after he attains the age of seventy years ;
if he is reappointed as a director after attaining the age of seventy years, at the annual general meeting following that reappointment.
Where a person retires from office under the provisions of subsection (2), no provision for the automatic reappointment of retiring directors in default of another appointment shall apply and if at the meeting at the conclusions of which he retires the vacancy is not filled, it may be filled as a casual vacancy.
In this section “public company” means a limited company which is not a private company.
