55. Calls on shares

Where a call is made on a share or any other obligation attached to a share and is performed by the shareholder, the company shall within ten working days give notice to the Registrar in the prescribed form of—
the amount of the call or its value as determined by the board under subsection (3) of section 58; and
the amount of the stated capital of the company following the making of the call.
Where a company fails to comply with the requirement of subsection (1) —
the company shall be guilty of an offence and be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand rupees; and
every officer of the company who is in default shall be guilty of an offence and be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand rupees.
