37. Amendment of section 52 of the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Section 52 of the principal enactment as amended by Act, No.14 of 2004 is hereby further amended in subsection (1) of that section as follows :—

(1)

by the substitution in the paragraph titled “First” of that section, for the words “electoral list now in force for this electoral area.”, of the words “electoral list now in force for this ward.”; and

(2)

by the substitution in the paragraph titled

“Second:–” of that section, for the words “member for this electoral area.”, of the words “member for this ward.”.
