64. Amendment of section 82P of the principal enactment

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Section 82P of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section, as follows :—

(1)

by the substitution for the words “in respect of any electoral area”, of the words “in respect of any ward of any electoral area”;

(2)

in paragraph (a) of that subsection, by the substitution for the words “for the recognized political party or independent group which it preferred”, of the words “for the candidate of any recognized political party or independent group which it preferred”.
