18. Amendment of Article 78 of the Constitution

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

Article 78 of the Constitution is hereby amended by the repeal of paragraph (1) of that Article, and the substitution therefor of the following paragraph:-

“(1) Every Bill shall be published in the Gazette at least fourteen days before it is placed on the

Order Paper of Parliament.”.
