7. Resignation of a member of the Commission

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

A member of the Commission may at any time resign from his office by a letter addressed to the President in that behalf and such resignation shall take effect upon it being accepted by the President in writing.

(2)

The President shall on the recommendation of the

Constitutional Council appoint a new member in place of the member who resigned, within two weeks of the resignation of such member.
