23. Term of office of the Director-General

(1)

The Director-General shall, unless he earlier vacates office by death, resignation or removal, hold office for a period of five years and shall not be eligible for reappointment.

(2)

The Director-General on vacating office at the expiration of the period of office shall continue to function in his capacity as Director-General until a new Director-General is appointed.

(3)

The President shall on the recommendation of the

Constitutional Council appoint a new Director-General, within three months of such expiration.
