8. Official Receiver and Deputy Official Receivers

The Minister shall appoint -
a suitable person by name or by office to be
Official Receiver; and
one or more suitable persons by name or by office to be Deputy Official Receivers, to act on behalf of or stand in the place of the Official Receiver where it is necessary or expedient to do so.
Rescue, Rehabilitation and Insolvency
The Official Receiver and Deputy Official Receivers shall be officers of the court.
The Official Receiver and Deputy Official Receivers –
shall hold office on such terms and conditions as the Minister may direct; and
may be removed from office by a direction of the
Minister.
The Director-General shall monitor the conduct and performance of the Official Receiver and Deputy Official
Receivers, and may require the Official Receiver to provide to the Director-General any document or information that may concern the conduct and performance of ones office or that of a Deputy Official Receiver.
Deputy Official Receivers shall discharge their duties and exercise their powers subject to the control and direction of the Official Receiver.
Any Deputy Official Receiver may act on behalf of or stand in the place of the Official Receiver and while doing so shall –
have all of the authority and powers of the Official
Receiver; and
be subject to the same restrictions and limitations as may be imposed on the Official Receiver by this Act or any regulation made thereunder.
