448. Trial of offences and imposition of fines

Notwithstanding anything contained in any other written law to the contrary –

all offences under this Act may be tried summarily by a Magistrate; and

a fine may be imposed by a Magistrate for any offence under this Act, notwithstanding that such fine exceeds the amount of the fine which such Magistrate may impose in the exercise of its ordinary jurisdiction.
