453. General provisions as to offences

(1)

Where –

(a)

a person fails to comply with an order of the court under this Act; and

(b)

this Act does not otherwise provide that such a failure is an offence, the person commits an offence under this subsection and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not less than two hundred thousand rupees and not exceeding two million rupees or to rigorous imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years or to both such fine and imprisonment.

(2)

Where –

(a)

a person fails to comply with a provision of this

Act;

(b)

the person is not, by reason of the failure, guilty of an offence under subsection (1); and

(c)

this Act does not otherwise provide that such a failure is an offence, the person commits an offence under this subsection shall and be liable on conviction to a fine not less than one hundred thousand rupees and not exceeding three million rupees.
