Part VI

83. Criteria for a Bankruptcy order on debtor application

Official English translation. Where it differs from the Sinhala or Tamil text, the Act itself says which text prevails.

(1)

A debtor’s application for a Bankruptcy Order shall include —

(a)

a statement of the debtor’s financial affairs in accordance with section 33, the form of which may be prescribed; and

(b)

such other information as may be requested by the court.

(2)

Where a debtor becomes able to pay such debtor’s debts at any time between the presentation of an application for a Bankruptcy Order and the court’s decision regarding the making of a Bankruptcy Order, the debtor shall notify the court of such fact.
